Michael K. Baker is a serial entrepreneur, investor and advisor in digital media. Most recently, he was CEO and co-founder of DataXu (acquired by Roku). While building DataXu into the leading DSP for Connected TV, he co-founded and was Executive Chairman of mobile exchange Nexage (acquired by Verizon). Prior to that he was CEO and co-founder of mobile marketing pioneer Enpocket (acquired by Nokia). Mike is an early-stage investor in dozens of innovation companies powering the digital transformation.
Keith Nilsson is currently Managing Partner of Xplorer Capital, an early stage venture firm focused on disruptive technologies and business models. Nilsson also manages Visionnaire Ventures, a Venture Capital firm he co-founded with Taizo Son. Nilsson was previously a partner at TPG Growth and led technology investing in growth oriented technology companies on a global basis.
Prior to TPG, Nilsson held various senior executive roles at Yahoo!. Nilsson’s most recent roles were SVP of Global Initiatives and SVP of Emerging Markets Group. As one of Yahoo!’s four geographic regions, Nilsson’s Emerging Markets territories spanned from Latin America to Southeast Asia, India, Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa.
Prior to this role, Nilsson was Vice President of Corporate Development for Yahoo!, responsible for all of the company’s investments, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic partnership activities. During his tenure in Corporate Development, he directly led or oversaw over 40 acquisitions, investments or joint ventures worth more than $25 billion in transaction value, including Alibaba, Overture, Flickr and many others.
Prior to joining Yahoo!, Nilsson worked in technology at Intel Corporation, and investment banking and equity research with Bankers Trust and Alex Brown in New York and Hong Kong.
Gina Garrubbo is President and CEO of National Public Media (NPM), the corporate sponsorship subsidiary of NPR, owned in partnership with PBS and WGBH. In this key role, Garrubbo leads NPM in delivering corporate sponsorship revenue to NPR and the public media system.
Garrubbo has spent more than 20 years growing marketing and sales teams, launching brands, and building companies, with extensive experience in traditional and digital media. Prior to joining NPM in 2015, Garrubbo was CEO of Garrubbo & Company, advising clients such as SheSpeaks, MediaBizNet, and Swissclear Global. Previously, she was Senior Vice President of Hearst Magazines’ Totally Global Media, where she built a first-of-its-kind global digital advertising platform across Hearst and its publishing partners’ digital properties worldwide. Garrubbo was also one of the key executives responsible for building women.com, one of the first websites for women, and for making BlogHer into the largest multi-platform community for women in social media.
She was Executive Vice President of Revenue for Oxygen Media and Divisional Vice President of Sales for Discovery Communication. Her earliest years in the media business include stints with Wells, Rich, Greene, McCann-Erickson, and ABC Television in the Advertising Sales and Affiliate Relations divisions.
Jeremy is Israel’s only active venture capitalist and professional basketball player, a unique combination for leading a sports tech investment fund. With over five years in venture, Jeremy has vast experience sourcing and conducting due diligence on technology deals with a specific focus on sports – including Replay Technologies (acquired by Intel ~$180m).
After a successful collegiate career at Yeshiva University where he was one of a dozen two- year captains in the school’s history, Jeremy chose to pursue his basketball career in Israel. Jeremy is a veteran of Israel’s Artzit basketball league having played six seasons on a number of teams in the Jerusalem and Tel Aviv areas. Jeremy has connections with professional athletes and teams in a number of international leagues, including NBA, NFL, Euroleague, MLS, CBA, and many more.
